Cassette tape backpack

As before, the tape was crocheted with a colorful thread.

 

Found a frame...

 ... with an intact mirror. The web was made from cassette tape and the red line drawing with orange nets.

I do not get much done these days, because my arm acts up. But these two made it.

Treasure bin full

Eulerstrasse delivered again! I suspected that there were truck load cover nets in it and so it was: two this time and almost intact. These I do not cut; one found a new home already, the other is still available for free (7x8 m).
 

Back again

There was no posting for awhile, because I had received two large sacks of Alpaka wool, which I chrocheted into a warm blanket. But here I am again, finishing some blanks I had started months ago.

 

Fun with music tapes

Co-worked tape with cotton thread again for this bag/backpack.

 

Leftovers

This bag sat half-finished for a while for lack of material.
 

Tape and fly

They sell funny closures for bags like this bee (or fly?). I got into the habit of working the cassette tape with an additional thread to improve stability.

Ready-made bottoms

 ... for bags I discovered the other day. They have holes along the sides for crochet or to sew you work on. Its fun and looks professional. This was the practice piece standing on its bottom.

The solution for tapes

...is to work them with a second thread. That makes the product much more robust and it shines and glitters.

Rheder Abendmarkt May 4 / Street market Hansakolleg May 6

The city of Rhede organizes a lovely evening market.

Two days later, a street market at Hansa-Kolleg in Münster takes place. 

I have been invited to show upcycling techniques there.

Tape, a wedding and a broken phone

... that is what I used here - meaning a length of fabric from the dress I wore at my sons wedding, an earphone cable for the handle and the cassette tape I am so fixed on these days.

March 11th Altenberge Youth Day

On March 11, I showed kids aged 8-14 in Haus für Alle how to work the net material.

On Feb 1, 2023, Münster's Mayor invited all Future Designers ("Zukunftsmacher") to the historical townhall for an appreciation dinner.
