While we are at it...




My father used to dig out the roots of the trees he felled, turn them around and "plant" them into the garden or the sitting room for decoration. When he died, bobbin-lacing one of them felt like the thing to do.

Recently, visiting Valencia, I was flabbergasted to see that the Spanish are much into bobbin-lacing with a little bit different technique than the German crafters. Their bobbins do not have a sheath enabling them to work with thicker thread. This prompted me to use my trash...

It is a mindless stitchery and not very challenging, but perfect for relaxing after a long workday. It gets your mind right off things and you produce nice little things. I used some of them to gather tourist information about trips we took.
